Dr Mark Ware

Dr Mark Ware is a Reader in GIS within the School of Computing and Mathematics.
His duties are split evenly between lecturing and research. Mark teaches a variety of subjects, including computer programming, information systems, web development, project management and GIS. His main research interest lies in Geographical Information Science (GIS); his areas of specialism include the design of data structures and algorithms for automated cartographic design, location aware application development, disaster management and GIS, open source GIS and spatial data usability. Dr Ware has experience of working on many successful collaborative research/consultancy projects; research partners include: the Ordnance Survey, Admiral, Network Rail, West Coast Network Services, Acclimatise, Kestrel, the Environment Agency, the British Geological Survey and the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency.
